Manipura Chakra

The Manipura (literally: City of Jewels) Chakra is located in the Sushumna Nadi in the spine at the level of the navel or slightly higher. It is the third lowest of the 6 or 7 main consciousness centers in our (energy) body. It is associated, among other things, with self-assertion. On this level of consciousness, the ego seeks validation, recognition, confirmation, fame, honor, wealth, power. It strives here to be seen and loved - instead of embarking on the journey to love oneself. The flame of the Manipura Chakra must be redirected upwards to transform this crucial and significant step away from seeking love and recognition, to ascend to the next higher chakra - Anahata - the 'Center of Love' itself.
