The Anahata Chakra, literally “the unstruck,” is located in the region of the heart and holds a special place within the Yoga and Tantra traditions. It is not only regarded as the center of love, compassion and connection, but as the very heart of consciousness itself – the seat of the Jīvātman, the ‘individual’ Self, which in truth is not separate from the Paramātman, the universal Self.
