Ajna Chakra

The Ajna Chakra is the sixth and highest of the Chakras that we will discuss. Above this level are the Bindu and Sahasrara, which are not truly Chakras - they belong to the realm of the ineffable.

In the human being, there are said to be ten doors of perception. The first nine are the eyes, ears, nostrils, mouth, anus, and the sexual organ. These are the gates through which a person communicates with the external world. The tenth door is the Ajna Chakra, which leads 'upwards' directly to Sahasrara, the source of all things. The first nine doors lead to the material realms of being; the tenth door, Ajna Chakra, leads to the more subtle realms. It is the gateway to the source of life itself.

It is also called the 'Eye of Intuition', in which an awakened person can observe events both in the outer and the supernatural realm. However, the most common name is the 'third eye'. It is the eye that looks inward and not outward. It is an eye that everyone has, but of which only a few people are aware and even fewer actually utilize. In a sense, most people are blind because this third eye is not used to see the deeper levels of being.

At this workshop, discover what this Chakra has to do with Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna. What about Triveni? Trikuti? Prayag? The Ego? The 'dissolution' of it and Duality? What this brings about? What about Tisra Til, Divya Chakshu, Jnana Chakshu or Jnana Netra? And what about Yamuna, Ganga and Sarasvati? The eye of Shiva? With Brahmariguha (the cave of bees)? The subtle sound Nada? With Sankalpa Shakti? With Buddhi? With the Pavritti Marga and Nivritti Marga? With the symbolism of the Cross in our Tradition? The Pineal Gland, Trataka and Shambavi Mudra?
